Ethical Decision

I have decided to terminate my shop on Artfire.  I consider their inclusion of commercial venues to be unethical.  I have moved all my products to Handmade Artists Shops .  This venue has only handmade artisan shops and one of a kind items.  The shops are not limited to jewelry, and many different genres are present.  Please come over and see the new shop.

  1. Thanks for the love John, keeping the HAFshop handmade is paramount to our mission statement. It used to be that way with Etsy as well as Artfire, but both venues obviously forgot their mission statement. I was on Etsy when they first started, Artfire is just following suit. Sad.

  2. I have been struggling with the same decision myself and have also reached the same conclusion. Unfortunately, I cannot invest the time needed until this school term is over. So I've put everything on hold for a few weeks. Good luck, and I'll be joining you and the other handmade artisans soon!

  3. I already left Etsy, and have a stand alone website. I may follow your lead and add a shop here too. I agree with your decision, good luck!

  4. Athough I haven't closed my Artfire shop, I opened a shop on Handmade Artists Shops and moving some of my handmade items there. My Artfire shop has had one problem after another and they seem indifferent when I notify them. Today I noticed all of my earlier blog posts there are gone. Good luck with your new shop!
